This just pisses me off, now we have to watch for these ass wipes on the streets i don't care if it will be for more of the elderly generation there just as bad if now worse.

City Council to Allow Golf Carts on Public Streets

Alexandria, Minn-After months of debate the Alexandria City Council approved an ordinance to allow the use of golf carts on public streets Monday.

Now organizations, businesses and individuals who are approved by the council will be able to make use of golf carts on public streets.

The issue had struck a cord with the Bethany Community of Alexandria, who had been using golf carts to take neighborhood tours. But after the council placed a moratorium on an "special use vehicle" permits while it considered safety issues, the Bethany Community was forced to stop the tours.

The new ordinance was also welcomed by Harold Koep of Alexandria Golf Carts, who had circulated a petition to urge the council to pass the ordinance.

"It's the way to go. The golf carts are easier on the streets and great for short trips to the grocery store or just out sight seeing," said Koep.

Keop also says there are "huge" environmental benefits.

"Some of the cars are electric, so there's no pollution. There completely green," said Koep.

The council had consulted with a legislative committee before coming to a decision Monday.

I agree with you, Mike. They approved the same thing here in several towns this last year....

Yep they can run them here too, but have to have lights and all on them, guess they got tired of all the riding mowers.

They have banned them from the streets here PAPA, unless you have a drivers license you can't be on the streets with them and even then you only have certain hours you can do it to many DWI's here.
