Toledo man, 34, gets 3 years in prison over marijuana

A Toledo man who at one time worked for the city as a temporary garbage collector was sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to time behind bars for drug charges.

Frederick Adams 34, of 2257 Warren St., was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison for one count of possession of marijuana and 17 months in prison for trafficking in marijuana. The sentences are to be served concurrently.

Adams initially was charged in two separate cases with two counts of possession of marijuana, three counts of trafficking in marijuana, and one count of possession of crack cocaine. Police said detectives searched Adams’ central Toledo home three times within a year. Records indicate that on each occasion, detectives seized bags of marijuana and scales.

He pleaded no contest Oct. 26 to the two charges. Judge Linda Jennings dismissed the remaining charges per a negotiated plea agreement.
