22-Year-Old Bird Island Man Missing Near Redwood Falls

This is one of my class mates kids that is missing, these are good people and i will be sending prayers there way.

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. - The Redwood County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in the search for a missing 22-year-old from Bird Island.

Andrew McNamara was reported missing Sunday around 10 p.m.

A search McNamara is being conducted in Section 4 of Delhi Township just northwest of Redwood Falls near the Gold Mine Bridge area.

No foul play is suspected. Anyone with any information is urged to call the Redwood County Sheriff's Office at 507-637-4036.

Wow!~! This is a sad story. Hopefully they will find him. They aren't giving ANY information as to if anyone knew where he was going etc. Prayers are sent to the family for his safe return.

Body of 22-Year-Old Missing Bird Island Man Found.

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. - The body of Redwood County 22-year-old Andrew McNamara of Bird Island was found in Rice Creek Tuesday afternoon around 12:40 p.m.

The news was devastating for McNamara's cousin, Jason Berger.

"We're just all in shock. I saw him a year ago and you just never think that's the last time you'll see somebody," Berger said.

Authorities had been searching for McNamara since Sunday when he disappeared.

Much of the search focused on Rice Creek, where a truck owned by McNamara got stuck in the water nearly a month ago.

Berger believes he went into the creek to retrieve something from the truck and something went wrong.

Berger said McNamara's shoes and cell phone were found near the creek.

"He had stuff in the truck and probably went in after it," Berger said.

Eight agencies were involved in the recovery efforts.

Berger described his cousin as a "fun kid" who loved hunting.

"He was loved by his family and will be missed," Berger said.
