St. Paul workers put on notice: Work or be fired
I been bitching about this shit for a long time, fact if you have read any of my posts on this site you will remember reading something about this shit but in my version of it and i am right, it's about damn time they state doing something about this shit. But this shit goes much farther than the twin cities and they will all be being watched state wide if not by people hired to do so it will be by tax payers.
Workers in every department in the City of St. Paul were put on notice: work 8 hours or expect to be fired.
The warning followed a 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS investigation that found pothole crews who took long breaks while they were supposed to be working.
The investigation lead to the resignation of Public Works Director Bruce Beese and Mayor Chris Coleman's call for an independent investigation.
Starting Thursday, 55 public works employees will be interviewed as part of that investigation.
St. Paul Human Resources Director Angela Nalezny, "We will discipline as severe as we can including terminations, suspensions whatever we can."
The investigation could take months start-to-finish because a process has to be followed to fire city workers.
After the investigation is complete and discipline is determined, workers will get their unions involved. This case could involve up tp five different unions. Eventually, the city and unions could go to arbitration.
Two outsiders will investigate the public works department. The investigation will cost taxpayers $10,000 to $15,000.
Beese will remain on the city payroll, making nearly $112,000 in another job, at least until the investigation is complete.
Long-time and well-respected parks and works employee Rich Lallier has been named interim public works director.
City officials said he was too busy to talk to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. According to the city, he was on the street making sure crews were working.
The city has asked 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS for all of our undercover video to try and build its case against workers. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS is considering that request.
Here is a video also of this story.

That is great!~! It's about time they start doing something about the workers not doing their job and still getting paid. Hopefully they will stick to their guns and repremand these workers.

I see them all the time traveling roads that they don't need to be on, i see the all the time taking long routes to places that could be gotton to using a shorter route, the roads that need to be traveled and checked are not traveled and if they are nothing is done with the problems that are there. Now top that off with 2 hour lunch breaks and hour long coffee breaks, hell i have seen them sleeping under there trucks in the shade after eating yes it has to end.
